The Multi-Agent Simulation Suite (MASS) is being developed at AITIA International Inc, Budapest, Hungary. The project started in early 2003 and went through several stages. It first initiated as a collection of add-ons to the popular Repast J 3.1 simulation package.

Then in late 2004, a more ambitious design was created that later became what is now called MASS. The development was carried out by AITIA International's Simulation Group, in cooperation with the Informatics Cooperative Research and Education Center of the Lorand Eötvös University, Budapest.

The development of the Multi-Agent Simulation Suite (MASS) is sponsored mainly by the internal funds of AITIA International Inc, Budapest, Hungary.
